Vitalik Buterin, all-in on 'agentic coding,' says AI could accelerate Ethereum roadmap

“People should be open to the possibility (not certainty! possibility) that the Ethereum roadmap will finish much faster than people expect, at a much higher standard of security than people expect,” Buterin posted on X on Feb. 28.

Buterin was responding to a post by X user @yq_acc, who said he had spent more than $5,000 on API calls to vibe-code an Ethereum client that included features on the blockchain not previously anticipated to be completed until the end of the decade.
