Aethir, a decentralized network for AI computing capacity, is getting into the business of running physical infrastructure.

The project said Monday in a blog post that it had secured access to 10 data-center sites in the U.S. and Europe totaling up to 20 megawatts, and will source the Nvidia chips to fill them.

The program, called Accelerate, is projected to generate up to $700 million in contracts by the end of 2026 and more than $2 billion once all 10 sites are built out, Aethir said on X.

The pitch for decentralized compute has been that nobody needs to build anything; just aggregate the GPUs that already exist. So the latest initiative is Aethir's bet that the bottleneck has moved, and that it's well suited to line up chips, sites and customers.

"For four years, the decentralized GPU cloud model was defined by what it didn't own," Aethir wrote. "That ends here."

Aethir said the first deals should close in the coming months, alongside revised ATH tokenomics with a burn mechanism and variable platform fee. The project's ATH token is down 40% this year, according to CoinGecko.

Axe Compute

Aethir's services will include securing GPU hardware, arranging access to capacity and working with partners such as Axe Compute, whose build arm owns and operates the infrastructure. Aethir's foundation is a shareholder in Axe, a Nasdaq-listed firm with more than $3 billion in signed 2026 contracts, according to a disclosure in the post.

Aethir said it orchestrates hundreds of thousands of GPU containers in more than 90 countries, and argued this month that such networks prop up the used-chip market.

"The winners won't be whoever plans the biggest campus," said Mark Rydon, Aethir co-founder and chief strategy officer. "They'll be whoever delivers working capacity first. Companies don't want to wait years for compute. They want serious capacity, deployed fast."
