Aave, the largest lending platform in decentralized finance, is letting AI assistants pull its market data and fill out the paperwork on a loan.
Aave Labs, the company behind the protocol, said in a blog post Tuesday that it had released a connector that any chatbot can plug into, using the common Model Context Protocol (MC) standard for linking AI assistants to outside services.
A customer can ask questions like which Aave market is paying the most on stablecoin deposits, or how close a loan is to being called in, and get a live answer rather than one guessed from training data that could be months old.
The assistant can fill out the order, but it cannot place it, Aave Labs said. Every transaction comes back unsigned and has to be approved in the user's own wallet, and the connector stores no keys.
Users can also leave standing instructions, telling an assistant to start paying down a loan if the collateral behind it thins out.
Aave accounts for roughly 59% of decentralized lending.
Crypto exchanges, wallets and data providers have released MCP connectors, so Aave is catching up, in a sense. Coinbase's Base network released a similar tool in May.
HOW AI WAS USED IN THE PRODUCTION OF THIS PIECE: I drafted this story on Claude using my custom blog-post skill, which read the Aave Labs post in full and pulled background from published sources, each linked inline. I filed it to DeAI News through the Distro Publisher MCP connector. I checked every figure against the original post and the cited coverage before publication.
