Blockchain network Cardano has been added to the official software kit for x402, a standard that lets AI agents pay for online services on the spot, CoinDesk's Shaurya Malwa reported. Agents can now pay in Cardano's ADA token or other tokens on the network.
Solana and the XRP Ledger already support x402, which Coinbase created in 2025. Cardano's version has completed a transaction on a test network but hasn't run on the live one, CoinDesk noted.
